Final Conference for Romania-Bulgaria SPATIAL Project Takes Place in Bucharest

Bucharest, August 6 (BTA) - In Bucharest on Thursday, Bulgarian
Deputy Regional Development and Public Works Minister Ivan
Asparouhov took part in the final conference for the SPATIAL
Project "Common Strategy for Sustainable Territorial Development
 of the cross-border area Romania-Bulgaria," Asparouhov's
Ministry said in a press release on Thursday.

The project is co-financed under the Romania-Bulgaria
Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013. The lead partner
is Romania's Ministry of Regional Development and Public
Administration. There are also 11 project partners from Bulgaria
 (including the Ministry of Regional Development and Public
Works) and Romania.

The principal objectives are to carry out a territorial analysis
 of the cross-border area, to formulate a vision, goals,
priorities and projects for development of the area until 2045,
to build a regional database and implement pilot projects.

Asparouhov is expected to confer with Sirma Caraman, State
Secretary at Romania's Ministry of Regional Development and
Public Administration.
