Coast Centre in Bourgas Joins Fight against Fuel Smuggling
Bourgas, on the Black Sea, August 8 (BTA) - The coast centre in
Bourgas will help fighting fuel smuggling, Prime Minister Boyko
Borissov said at its opening on Saturday.
The investment of 20 million leva means that ships which
transfer petrol or ship fuel from one to the other at sea cannot
go unnoticed, said Borissov.
A similar facility will open in the Black Sea city of Varna next
Saturday, to be followed by a location on the Danube River
later on. It becomes practically impossible for ships to hide.
If a ship disables its transponders, then it must have sunk and
the Border Police Service, the Customs Agency and all other
systems will rush to the site to check what the matter is.
Borissov was accompanied by Transport Minister Ivaylo Moskovski,
Environment Minister Ivelina Vassileva, Regional Development
Minister Liliyana Pavlova and Bourgas Mayor Dimiter Nikolov.
