GERB Nominates Tsetska Tsacheva as Its Presidential Candidate

Sofia, October 2 (BTA) - National Assembly Chair Tsetska Tsacheva is the ruling party's presidential candidate with Vice Admiral Plamen Manoushev as running mate. The tandem was officially announced by GERB leader and Prime Minister Boyko Borissov before the party elite at the National Palace of Culture on Sunday.

During the presentation Borissov said he sees Tsacheva as "a mother of the nation". Being National Assembly Chair in the course of two terms, Tsacheva is highly competent regarding the legislation - the one already adopted and about to be adopted, he said. "I do not see anyone more prepared in this respect. She is working with all political parties even now," Borissov added. Speaking about Tsacheva's merits, he also pointed out her communication with the Constitutional Court and the excellent manner, in which she has withstood the country's prestige on the international scene. Vice Admiral Manoushev will complement her competence with his expertise in the defence sphere, the Prime Minister observed.

On her turn, Tsacheva said that although charged with GERB's energy for stability and security, she will work in the name of all Bulgarian citizens both in the country and abroad.
