Bourgas, on the Black Sea, August 28 (BTA) - The owners of hotels in the Black Sea resort of Sunny Beach are asking to meet with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and representatives of all institutions dealing with Bulgarian tourism as a matter of emergency in a hope that some of their pressing problems will be addressed. The union of Sunny Beach hotel owners circculated an open letter to this address on Monday.

The hotel owners want to map out concrete steps to resolve the problems in tourism in a way that will make sure the next season will start with clear rules and regulations.

They insist that the status of national resorts should be enshrined in the Tourism Act, that the problems of infrastructure in Sunny Beach and the vicinity should be solved, as well as the problems with public order and security, among other things.

"For over 15 years now we have participated actively in meetings and working groups, prepared opinions and bills, and have called upon the state authorities to take prompt and tangible actions to resolve the problems. Regrettably, we start each season with the same unresolved problems that sometimes escalate during peak season," the letter says.
