site.btaPresident Calls Consultative Council for National Security to Discuss Counter-Corruption Efforts

Sofia, August 30 (BTA) - President Rumen Radev has called a meeting of the Consultative Council on National Security (CCNS) to discuss the anti-corruption, the President's Press Secretariat said on Wednesday. The meeting is due October 9.

It will be the second CCNS meeting under President Radev. The first was held in May 2017 with an agenda dominated by the risks to national security.

The October 9 meeting will explore the options for a working model to combat corruption, said the President's Press Secretariat.

The CCNS consists of the Chairperson of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister, the ministers of defence, interior, foreign affairs and finance, the Chief of Defence, and the floor leaders of parliamentary groups. The President is also free to invite more participants.
