site.btaBulgaria's GDP Grew 1% in Q2 Compred with Q1 - Eurostat

Brussels, September 8 (BTA) - In the second quarter of 2017 Bulgaria's GDP grew by 1 per cent compared with the first quarter, according to seasonally adjusted Eurostat data. An initial estimate put GDP growth at 0.9 per cent. Year on year, the growth figure remained unchanged at 3.6 per cent.

Seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 0.6 per cent in the euro area and by 0.7 per cent in the EU28 during the second quarter of 2017, compared with the previous quarter.

Among Member States for which data are available for the second quarter of 2017, the Czech Republic (+2.5 per cent), Sweden (+1.7 per cent), Romania (+ 1.6 per cent) and the Netherlands (+1.5 per cent) recorded the highest growth compared with the previous quarter, while Portugal and the United Kingdom (both +0.3 per cent) recorded the lowest, Eurostat said.

At 5.7 per cent Romania had the highest GDP growth compared with the second quarter of 2016.
