site.btaTurkish Citizen Detained after Trying to Cross Border at Ruse on Wrong Identity Card

A Turkish citizen tried to leave Bulgaria at the Danube Bridge border checkpoint near Ruse with somebody else's identity card, border officials told BTA on Wednesday.

The Turkish citizen was traveling together with a Bulgarian in a car from Dobrich to Germany on Tuesday afternoon. During the inspection, the Turkish citizen presented an identity card, which turned out to belong to the brother of the Bulgarian driver in the car.

Both men have been detained and the investigation is ongoing.
