An exhibition showing a selection of 27 covers for an imaginary publication, The Sofianer, will be arranged in the Crystal Garden in Sofia from September 2, said the organizers on Friday. The Sofianer was inspired by the covers of the American publication The New Yorker. "The cult magazine The New Yorker, with its urban spirit and classic look, has started a global movement in which cities from all over the world make their imaginary covers. Thus appeared The Parisianer, The Tokyoiter, Le Montrealer, The Brusseler, The Milaneser, The Sofianer, and for the first time this year, The Tarnovian, dedicated to Veliko Tarnovo," the organizers noted.
It will be the third year in a row that proposals for the vision of The Sofianer have been collected, with over 200 cover proposals submitted for the project in 2024. The choice of which of them to be shown in the exhibition was made by a jury including Adriana Mihailova, Founder of Imp-Act Agency, and Andria Brulet-Rodriguez, Deputy Ambassador of the USA to Bulgaria.
The initiative is implemented by the Credo Bonum Foundation and the Multi Kulti Collective, with the support of the Bulgarian-American Credit Bank and the Sofia City Hall.
