There is heavy traffic of trucks and cars at the Danube Bridge border checkpoint near Ruse on Monday, with border officials noting a total of 1,710 trucks passed through the facility in both directions over the past 24 hours. Of these, 772 entered Bulgaria, while 938 left the country.

Car traffic is also intense in the direction of Romania, as drivers have to wait between five and 10 minutes to cross the bridge, with traffic expected to increase in the afternoon hours.

On July 10, Bulgaria started a major overhaul of the Bulgarian section of the 70-year-old Danube Bridge, which is why the traffic is carried out in only one lane and Border Police officers regulate the traffic in the area of ​​construction and installation activities.
