The Hills of Rock 2024 festival was attended by over 60,000 fans of rock and metal music, who enjoyed the performance of over 50 bands. The festival took place from July 25 to 27 at the Rowing Canal in Plovdiv.
On the third and last day of Hills of Rock 2024, the festival's three stages offered the audience a choice of 16 rock and metal bands. The main stage offered performances from the English rock band Massive Wagons, the American band Combichrist, created by the Norwegian Andy LaPlegua more than 20 years ago, the Swedish band Pain and the American group Suicidal Tendencies, before the headliners of the night, Amon Amarth, closed the festival.
On July 26, the 2024 BRIT Awards winning British rock band Bring Me The Horizon made their first appearance in front of a Bulgarian audience, performing some of their greatest hits, including the single Parasite Eve. The song, which has a Bulgarian folk intro, was performed together with the Bulgarian State Television Female Vocal Choir. "Bulgaria, you are amazing," repeated vocalist Oli Sykes, as the nearly two hour long concert included a light show, video animation, sparks and fires. Before the climax, the musicians from the American band Frail Body appeared on the centre stage, followed by the German band Ghostkid, the American band Baroness and the Swedish band Imminence.
On July 25, the festival was visited by over 20,000 people, who saw the performance of Me and My Devil, the English heavy metal band Loathe, world-famous Skindred, the Canadian heavy metal band Spiritbox and the headliners Korn, which has won two Grammy awards and has a career spanning 30 years on the world music scene.
During the three festival days, numerous Bulgarian rock and metal bands also performed on the two side stages of Hills of Rock, among them Sevi, Kerana and the Astronauts, Toy Letters, Expectations and Cool Den.
Hills of Rock 2024 was organized by Fest Team, who noted that tickets for the next edition of the festival in 2025 are already on sale.
