site.btaFirst Edition of Black Sea International Literary Festival to Take Place in Burgas between June 6-9
The first edition of the Black Sea International Literary Festival will take place is Burgas between June 6 and 9, the municipality of Burgas said in a press release on Thursday. More than 50 writers, translators, publishers, literary agents and national institutions’ representatives from the Black Sea countries of Bulgaria, Turkiye, Georgia, and Romania are expected to attend the forum.
The programme includes three literary readings, as well as several professional meetings on translation, publishing and literary contacts between the countries. Some of the most interesting authors, winners of national and international awards, will be presented. The Peyo Yavorov Centre for Contemporary Art (and regional library) will host the events.
The festival will also launch a partnership with the Bulgarian Association of Communication Agencies (BACA). Lectures to BACA members will be given by Ostap Slyvynsky, a poet, writer and translator from Bulgarian into Ukrainian, member of the Board of PEN Ukraine, and Gvantsa Jobava, Vice President at International Publishers Association.
Admission is free for all events.
