On April 30, the Archaeological Museum in Kyustendil - the former Ahmed Bey Mosque - opens an exhibition titled Natura 2000 - Protect Rare Species, said the Kyustendil Museum on Tuesday. It is organized by the Green Balkans environmental organization.

The exhibition presents eight real-size mock-ups of protected species of animals, made by Nikolay Todorov. Among them are a peregrine falcon, a bearded vulture, a bottlenose dolphin and a porpoise, which is the smallest representative of cetaceans in the Black Sea. The displayed exhibits are complemented by photos of other protected species of animals and plants in various parts of Bulgaria, which are included in the European network of protected areas Natura 2000.

Green Balkans is a leading organization in the field of conservation of rare species and habitats in Bulgaria and is the oldest environmental non-governmental organization in Bulgaria.
