A public discussion in connection with the Integrated concept for territorial investments (ITI) was held in Kyustendil Municipality on Tuesday. Lyubomira Velinova, Manager of the Regional Information Center, presented four integrated concepts for the region, which have passed administrative compliance and compatibility assessment, and the respective projects included in each ITI.

"The idea of these public discussions is to recognize these concepts as necessary, as afterwards they will be evaluated by the Regional Development Council", Velinova said. She pointed out, however, that such a council has not yet been formed and therefore it is not certain that all project deadlines will be met.

The first ITI includes projects for the purchase of a nuclear magnetic resonance and angiography equipment, information campaigns among the Roma community regarding the scope of immunizations and early diagnosis, as well as campaigns for physicals. The leading partner of the projects will be the Dr Nikola Vasilev Hospital in Kyustendil.

The second ITI aims to improve the social services for residential care, and includes projects for the creation of two residential care centres, each with a capacity of up to 15 places. Kyustendil Municipality will be the leading organization of the projects and the Dr Nikola Vasilev Hospital will be a partner institution.

The third ITI aims to modernize  accessible social services in the region. It will include projects for an energy and technical audit of the polyclinic's building and for the creation of green spaces around the health facility. The last presented ITI will target energy efficiency measures in the building of the Language High School in Kyustendil. The ITI will also include projects that aim to determine students' professional interest and to increase literacy levels.
