Bulgarian Ambassador to Chisinau Maya Dobreva and Moldovan Minister of Education Dan Perciun participated in a ceremony to inaugurate modern classrooms and a newly-built catering block at the Theoretical Lyceum of the town of Tvardita. The visit to the town with a Bulgarian population started with the inauguration of a modern classroom for teaching Bulgarian language and literature. The project was implemented by the Bulgarian Scientific Society in Moldova with the support of the Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community in Moldova, the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bulgarian Embassy in Moldova. The classroom is equipped with a modern interactive whiteboard, teaching materials, books on Bulgarian literature and historical maps, which will provide students with excellent conditions for learning the language and culture of their community.
The official guests also cut the red ribbon in front of the modern classroom for teaching Romanian language and literature. Minister Dan Perciun stressed the importance of cooperation between ethnic groups in Moldova and urged students to study the Romanian language. This class is part of a project of the Education Ministry, worth RON 100,000. It is equipped with new furniture and teaching aids, which will ensure quality education for the students, the Moldovan ministry's press service said.
The visit continued with the inauguration of a new catering block, built under the government's European Village programme.
