An exhibition dedicated to the 155th anniversary of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) was presented to the Bulgarian community, students and teachers at the Hristo Botev Bulgarian School in Strasbourg, BAS said on Monday.
The event held in the Council of Europe building was organized by Hristo Hristov, Chairman of the Cyril and Methodius European Association, and the school's principal, Assoc. Prof. Lidiya Mihova.
Assoc. Prof. Elka Traykova, Scientific Secretary of the Cultural-Historical Heritage and National Identity Department at BAS, talked about the Academy's history and role in contemporary science and culture. She presented the book "Back to the Bulgarian Roots" - a collection of essays, short stories, poems, drawings and sculptures by students of the Bulgarian school, published under a national programme promoting the development and strengthening of Bulgarian studies abroad.
The exhibition was displayed at the 12th World Forum for Democracy in Strasbourg on November 6-8 and is part of the events celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Council of Europe.
