Five people have been killed as a result of the overnight drone attack in Mykolaiv, said Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Head Vitaliy Kim in Telegram on Monday.
A 45-year-old woman was injured and has been admitted to hospital, while 22 people have sought psychological help on the ground, the post added.
According to Vitaliy Kim, the Russians attacked the city with drones at night around 01:50 EET. Ukrainian anti-aircraft forces shot down five drones.
Fires broke out in a multi-storey apartment block and private buildings. A private house was completely destroyed and several, including a multi-storey building, sustained damage. Two cars were destroyed as well.
According to the last census in Ukraine in 2001, the Bulgarian community in the Mykolaiv region amounted to 5,600 people. Bulgarians live compactly in the Ternovka district, located in the outskirts of Mykolaiv. The first Bulgarian settlers founded the Bulgarian settlement of Ternovka near Mykolaiv in 1802.
