The sixth edition of the Festival of Cultures, organized by the Commission for Integration of Foreigners and the Center for Support of Integration of Foreigners took place in Mladá Boleslav, Czechia, Kamelia Ilieva, Roden Glas magazine editor-in-chief told BTA on Friday.

Over the past six years, the event has become more popular with locals, who come to the festival to learn about the cultures of the communities in the Mladá Boleslav region, Ilieva said.

This year's Festival of Cultures featured volunteers from nine countries, including Bulgaria, Ukraine, Turkiye, Slovakia, and Thailand, focusing on cultural education and tolerance. The event included activities for children, traditional food tasting, and cultural displays, with each community showcasing at least ten traditional costumes. All items were freely shared, with costs reimbursed by the municipality, and Bulgarian participation remained fully voluntary and unfunded by external organizations, Ilieva said.

The official opening of the Festival of Cultures was attended by Dancho Michev, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Czechia.
