The Embassy of Bulgaria in Japan will host the upcoming ninth Bulgarian embroidery workshop on September 15, the Embassy reported on its Facebook page on Tuesday. The event organized and led by Iren Yamami will be held under the motto Let Us Take the Needle.

Those interested in participating can sign up until September 13 here. They will be able to learn about various stitches used in Bulgarian embroidery.

Iren Yamami has lived in Japan for more than 30 years. She is a long-time researcher in the field of embroidery and embroidery with numerous awards from international competitions and exhibitions. Among her major projects is the hand-embroidered map of Bulgaria, which includes 144 traditional motifs that represents each region in Bulgaria. She is the author of Archaic Symbols in Embroidery and Bulgaria in Embroidery.
