site.btaUPDATED Sending Armoured Vehicles to Ukraine Cost BGN 170,000-Plus - Defence Minister Tagarev

The cost of sending armoured personnel carrier to Ukraine exceeded BGN 170,000, outgoing Defence Minister Todor Tagarev told a press conference here on Thursday.

The logistics operation involved more than 240 military and civilian personnel. All carriers have now left for Ukraine.

Tagarev awarded three deputy ministers for their contribution to the logistics and transportation of the armoured vehicles. Those awarded were Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Biser Minchev, Deputy Minister of Defence Atanas Zapryanov and Deputy Minister of Interior Ivelina Dundakova.

Asked about a new military aid package for Ukraine, Tagarev said that all decisions with specific parameters have been implemented. There are, however, decisions that are open. The Minister said: "What we are doing is analyzing the stated needs of Ukraine, the possibilities to contribute to a small part of those needs. In most cases it is a matter of taking a decision at the executive level to provide additional assistance."
