The BTA National Press Club in Belgrade, Serbia, was presented for the first time on November 8, 2024, along with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque dedicated to Bulgarian journalist, writer, and revolutionary Lyuben Karavelov.
"The correspondents and press clubs of BTA abroad are for all Bulgarian journalists and can be used for events organized by Bulgarian media organizations," Kiril Valchev, the BTA Director General, said during the opening event in the Serbian capital.
Among the guests were Petko Doykov, Bulgaria's Ambassador to Belgrade; Angel Angelov, Head of the General Directorate for Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA); Momchil Raychevski, Director of the Southeast Europe Directorate at the Foreign Ministry; Dimitar Tsanev, Bulgaria’s Consul General in Nis; Zoran Durov, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Tsaribrod; Milen Mitev, Bulgarian National Radio Director General; Hristo Hristov, Executive Director of Darik Radio; Gospodin Yovchev, Chief Operating Officer of bTV Media; Anton Andonov, Member of the Board of Directors of BNT Group; and BTA Secretary general Julia Sokolova, Secretary General of BTA. Representatives of the Bulgarian community in Serbia from Belgrade, Tsaribrod, Bosilegrad, and Vojvodina also attended.
Bulgarian musician Theodosii Spassov and renowned Serbian singer Biljana Krstic performed a duet featuring Bulgarian and Serbian folk songs.
