On October 19, 2023, with a blessing for health and a song from the region of Graovo, the National Press Club of the BTA in Pernik was officially opened.
The Press Club opens its doors on the official holiday of the town, October 19, which is the feast day of the patron saint of Pernik, St. John of Rila, BTA Director General Kiril Valchev said at the opening.
Pernik Regional Governor Lyudmil Veselinov commented that the media in Pernik and the country will find their home in the newly opened press club. In his words, the space, together with that of the Art Gallery, enrich the building of the Mining Directorate.
"Good news for Pernik, the region and Bulgaria should be reported from here," Deputy Mayor Stefan Krastev added.
The opening ceremony was attended by MPs from Pernik Hristina Georgieva, Georg Georgiev and Dimo Drenchev, representatives of the Pernik Municipality, various cultural institutes and local territorial administrations.
The Press Club is located in the building of the Mining Directorate on 1 Sveti Ivan Rilski Square.
