site.btaVelichie Party Leader: Velichie Does Not Recognize Elections Outcome, Demands Annulment
The leader of the Velichie Party, Ivelin Mihaylov, said during a press briefing in BTA's press club here on Friday that his party does not recognize the results of the snap parliamentary elections that took place across the country on October 27. Mihaylov stated that his party has collected and continues to collect evidence of vote buying that involved members of state organizations.
Velichie demands the annulment of the last elections and conducting new ones.
Velichie said that it will ask the institutions referred to in the Electoral Code to request recount of ballots from the Constitutional Court. "If our demand meets no response, it means that everyone is involved," Mihaylov said.
Velichie have filed more than 170 alerts that will form the basis of the request for the elections to be annulled.
According to Mihaylov, the main reason for the illegitimacy of the vote is the division of the Movement of Rights and Freedoms (MRF) and Delyan Peevski's desire to prove himself as the man who will take control the MRF. Peevski is the current leader of the MRF - New Beginning as well as one of the MRF's co-chairs along with Dzhevdet Chakarov.
The leader of Velichie blamed the low voter turnout on the Bulgarians' lack of trust that in the electoral system. He reported that he had been threatened.
Yordan Mitsikulev of Velichie stated that video footage from the Central Election Commission's servers suggests that 24% of all polling stations were found to have violations.
