Leader of the coalition GERB-UDF Boyko Borissov Saturday met with supporters in Asenovgrad, Southcentral Bulgaria. He was joined by members of the political force and candidates for MPs.

Borisov outlined the main problems in the region, including the need to build a ring road. "If we do not make a ring road to Kardzhali, the city will collapse. This huge traffic has to turn around Plovdiv. And this ring road would be ready. Nobody wants a government except us. So many things can be done, and already four years - zero, stagnation," Borisov said.

He pointed out that among the coalition's priorities are programmes for the renovation of multi-apartment buildings and those under the Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The meeting was also attended by Tsveta Karayancheva, top-of-the-list candidate in Kardzhali region, who commented on the issue of low voter turnout. "Maybe in the whole Bulgaria people are demotivated to vote. Apathy has affected our voters. People tell us their local problems - they have no water, no infrastructure, no personal doctors, no transport between villages. All this they are trying to solve with the local government," Karayancheva told supporters.

She added that Bulgaria is at a crossroads - whether to build a belt of stability in the Balkans and Europe, or to continue swinging in the political earthquake zone.
