BTA will publish the names of the top-of-the-list candidates of every party for all constituencies for the June 9 parliamentary elections. The information about the candidates is provided by the respective party/coalition, the candidates themselves and other official sources of information.

A total of 31 parties and coalitions have registered for the June 9, 2024 national elections in Kardzhali. The candidates total 137, according to the Constituency Election Commission.

The order follows the sequential numbers on the ballots, as drawn by the Central Election Commission:

1.     There Is Such a People: Tsvetan Predov, 46, worked for over 17 years in the social sphere with at-risk and minority groups. MP from Kardzhali in the 49th National Assembly;

2.     Glas Naroden [People's Voice] Party: Veselin Belevski, architect;

3.     Blue Bulgaria Coalition (nine parties: Conservative Alliance of the Right (KOD); Bulgarian Democratic Forum; Democratic Action Movement; National Movement for Stability and Upsurge; Bulgaria of the Citizens Movement; Conservative Bulgaria Party; Radical Democratic Party in Bulgaria; Bulgarian New Democracy Party; Agrarian People's Union): Zdravko Dimitrov, 53, economist in the field of banking, former NRA employee;

4.     We the Citizens Coalition (three parties: Bulgarian Spring; Competence, Responsibility and Truth (KOI); Bulgarian Workers'-Peasants' Party): Dobri Bozhilov;

5.     No registered list of candidates; 

6.     Bulgarian Voice Party: Plamen Krastev, 65, worked as advisor to the Interior Ministry Secretary General on security and public order, currently consulting a large company;

7.     Rose Coalition (three parties: Bulgarian Social Democracy - EuroLeft; United Labour Bloc Bulgarian Labourists; Rodolyubie 2000): Zahari Ruzhenov, 38, economist, works as an office manager;

8.     Centre Coalition (two parties: Svoboda [Freedom]; Bulgarian Agrarian Party): Emil Andreev, 36, holds a degree in public administration, works in the private sector;

9.     Bulgarian Solidarity Coalition: Iglika Misheva- Bruseva;

10. Edinenie [Unity] Party: Nina Dobreva, 39, holds a master’s degree in Macroeconomics from the UNWE. Works in the banking sector;

11. Bulgarian National Alliance (BNO) Party: Valentin Hristov, 64, graduate of the Art Academy in Sofia. He is an artist and has been involved in politics for 20 years;

12. Vazrazhdane Party: Georgi Georgiev. Born in 1979 in Haskovo, where he also tops the party list. Graduate of the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy in Sofia, long-time chemical engineer in an ammonia plant. Member of the 47th, 48th and 49th parliaments;

13. Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) Party: Georgi Chepishev, 48, also tops the list in Sofia’s 26th constituency. Engineer-technologist by profession. MP of TISP in the 46th National Assembly;

14. Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria Coalition (four parties: Continue the Change; VOLT; Democrats for Strong Bulgaria; Yes, Bulgaria Movement): Radoslav Milev, 48, works in the field of hotel and restaurant management. Municipal councillor in Kardzhali for several consecutive terms;

15. The Truth and Nothing but the Truth People's Party: Edip Eredzhep, 32, holds a degree in hotel management, has worked in construction, currently drives a taxi in Germany;

16. Bulgarian Rise Party: Grigor Zahariev, 62, works in design, construction, and technical support of security systems. Member of the 48th National Assembly;

17. Civic Bloc Coalition (Radicals Bulgarian Democratic Union, Bulgarian Women's Party): Ailin Kaikular, 26, works in private business - trade and export in the agricultural sector;

18. Society for New Bulgaria Party: Dobromira Nikolova, works in the private sector;

19. The Left! Coalition (ABV (Alternative for Bulgarian Revival), Movement 21, Green Party, Alexander Stamboliiski Agrarian Party, National Movement for Salvation of the Fatherland, Social Democrats Political Movement): Stefan Bazlyankov;

20. Party of the Greens: Vladimir Nikolov, 44, also tops the list in Sofia’s 23rd constituency. Holds a degree in public administration. Manager of an aviation security company and leader of the Green Party;

21. Here We Come Party: Meral Bakalova;

22. GERB-UDF Coalition (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) and Union of Democratic Forces (UDF)): Tsveta Karayancheva, 56, also tops the list in Plovdiv’s 17th constituency. She has worked as an engineer-technologist and manager of enterprises in the field of machine production. Member of five consecutive parliaments, including the 45th, which she chaired. Regional coordinator of GERB in Kardzhali;

23. Bulgarian National Union New Democracy Party: Alexander Suev, 26, studies Medicine in Plovdiv, works in real estate;

24. BSP for Bulgaria Coalition (Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP); Ecoglasnost Political Club; Trakia Political Club): Hristo Prodanov. Born in 1977. Engineer, economist by profession. MP of BSP for Bulgaria in several parliaments. Minister of Tourism in the government of Prime Minister Kiril Petkov;

25. Velichie [Grandeur] Party: Kostadin Hadzhiyski, 53, holds a degree in economics and public administration. Currently entrepreneur, spent most of his career in the banking sector;

26. VMRO-Bulgarian National Movement Party: Pavel Milushev, 44, holds master’s degrees in human resources and in information and administrative management. Former deputy mayor of the South district in Plovdiv, currently runs a private business;

27. Direct Democracy Party: Marian Hristov;

28. Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) Party: Delyan Peevski, 43, holds a law degree from the South-West University. He was in the management of the board of "Port Varna" EAD, a legal adviser in a private company, then a lawyer at the Blagoevgrad and Sofia Bar Associations. In May 2005 he was appointed an investigator in the Economic Department of the Sofia Investigation Service. Five months later, he became deputy minister of state policy for disasters and accidents in the government of Sergei Stanishev, where he oversaw the State Reserve. He is also a member of the inter-ministerial commission that issues arms trade licenses. He has been a member of 8 non-consecutive national assemblies, including the 49th. Chairman of the MRF;

29. Green Movement Party: Vladimir Popov, 67, musician. Worked in the private sector and state administration;

30. Party for Great Bulgaria: Andon Filipov;

31. Bulgarian Union for Direct Democracy (BSDD): Misho Yanev, chemical engineer by education, holds a master's degree in Industrial Safety. A trade unionist defending the rights of workers for decent pay and normal working conditions;

32. Neutral Bulgaria Coalition (4 parties: Communist Party of Bulgaria; Bulgarian Communist Party (BCP); Party of Bulgarian Communists; Russophiles for the Revival of the Fatherland): Galina Nikolova.
