At the launching of the election campaign of the Green Movement Party on Sunday, Borislav Sandov said it was time Bulgaria to have its first green MEP and first green parliamentary group. Sandov is the party's top MEP candidate and tops its lists for the national parliament in Sofia's 23th Constituency and Smolyan (South Central Bulgaria).

Sandov noted that the Green Movement Party has a full list of MEP candidates. According to the party’s website, second in their MEP candidate list is Daniela Bozhinova, Co-founder and Co-chair of the Green Movement Party. If the party wins a seat in the European Parliament, Sandov and Bozhinova will rotate over it, the website says.

"A lot of people think that being part of state institutions is something to put on their lapel, to put on their CV. For us, it has never been like that. Even outside Parliament, we are effective enough, but we are even more active inside Parliament and that is why we are standing in these elections with the idea of having a green parliamentary group for the first time," Sandov said.

Sandov is optimistic about his party crossing the electoral threshold of 4%. He stressed that Green Movement is not a small party, as some might think, fearing that their votes will be wasted for nothing. "The vote of a person who believes in a cause and defends it can never be wasted, even when there are very few behind it," Sandov argued.
