BTA will publish the names of the top-of-the-list candidates of every party for all constituencies for the June 9 parliamentary elections. The information about the candidates is provided by the respective party/coalition, the candidates themselves and other official sources of information.

A total of 31 candidates’ lists of parties and coalitions have been registered to run in the elections in Burgas. The candidates total 430, according to the Constituency Election Commission.

The order follows the sequential numbers on the ballots, as drawn by the Central Election Commission:

  1. There Is Such a People: Ivaylo Valchev. Born in Burgas in 1972. Graduated in Bulgarian Language and Literature from Sofia University. Has worked in television for nearly 30 years, mostly as scriptwriter. MP in the 45th, 46th and 49th National Assemblies;
  2. Glas Naroden [People's Voice] Party: Todor Sotirov;
  3. Blue Bulgaria Coalition (9 parties: Conservative Alliance of the Right (KOD); Bulgarian Democratic Forum; Democratic Action Movement; National Movement for Stability and Upsurge; Bulgaria of the Citizens Movement; Conservative Bulgaria Party; Radical Democratic Party in Bulgaria; Bulgarian New Democracy Party; Agrarian People's Union): Milen Georgiev. Born in 1974. Played in PFC Neftochimic Burgas. Municipal councillor;
  4. We the Citizens Coalition (3 parties: Bulgarian Spring; Competence, Responsibility and Truth (KOI); Bulgarian Workers'-Peasants' Party): Nako Stefanov. Born in 1954. History professor, expert on the countries of East Asia. Has authored more than 60 monographs and textbooks on management, economics, politics, globalistics;
  5. No registered list of candidates;
  6. Bulgarian Voice Party: Georgi Popov. Born in Blagoevgrad in 1972. Graduated from the National Technical University of Dnipro, Ukraine. Master of Law from the Neofit Rilski South-West University. Politician, lawyer, artist, poet. MP of There Is Such a People (TISP) in the 45th and 46th National Assemblies. Left TISP in 2022 to found the Bulgarian Voice Party;
  7. Rose Coalition (3 parties: Bulgarian Social Democracy - EuroLeft; United Labour Bloc Bulgarian Labourists; Rodolyubie 2000): Dimitar Mitev. Doctor of Political Science from Sofia University. Speaks English and Chinese. CFO of an investment company;
  8. Centre Coalition (2 parties: Svoboda [Freedom]; Bulgarian Agrarian Party): Plamen Rusev. Born in 1956. Chairman of the Burgas Marine Association;
  9. Bulgarian Solidarity Coalition: Ivan Kirilov. Born in 1980. President of the Transport Workers Federation of the Podkrepa Confederation of Labour;
  10. Edinenie [Unity] Party: Nikolay Kyuchukov. Born in Burgas. Graduated from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia. Works in Water Supply and Sewerage EAD, Burgas;
  11. Bulgarian National Alliance (BNO) Party: Minyu Staykov. Born in 1961. Started trading in imported alcohol in the 1980s. Owner of large liquor- and wine-makers, including SIS Industries and Vinprom Karnobat, and of flour manufacturer Topaz Mel. Owns 2,600 hectares of vineyards and 4,300 ha of land under wheat;
  12. Vazrazhdane Party: Tsoncho Ganev. Born in Sofia in 1979. Graduated in Economy of Trade from the D.A. Tsenov Academy of Economics. Held managerial positions in international companies. Deputy mayor of Sofia's Mladost Borough in 2012-2015. Co-founder of Vazrazhdane in 2014. MP of the 47th and 48th National Assemblies. Deputy Chair of the 49th National Assembly;
  13. Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) Party: Ventsislav Petkov. Born in Pleven in 1985. Engineer. MP of the 47th National Assembly. Member of the party's Control Council;
  14. Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria Coalition (4 parties: Continue the Change; VOLT; Democrats for Strong Bulgaria; Yes, Bulgaria Movement): Nikolay Denkov. Born in Stara Zagora in 1962. Graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy of the St Kliment Ohridski Sofia University. Professor of physical chemistry, Ph.D., D.Sc., Corresponding Member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Member of the European Academy of Sciences "Academia Europea" and of the European Space Agency's Physical Sciences Expert Group. Ranked among the top 2% of the world's best scientists by Stanford University. Deputy Minister of Education and Science in charge of higher education and the European Structural Funds between August 2014 and April 2016. Caretaker Minister of Education and Science from May to December 2021. Minister of Education and Science in the government of Kiril Petkov from December 2021 to August 2022. Member of the 48th and 49th National Assemblies. Prime Minister between June 2023 and April 2024;

  16. Bulgarian Rise Party: Stoyan Grozev. Born in Burgas in 1972. Master of Economic Management and of Public Administration and Management. Expertise in tourism and in civil and industrial engineering. Has contacts with companies in China, Uzbekistan, Russia and Kazakhstan. Has experience in gas transmission networks and renewable energy sources;
  17. Civic Bloc Coalition (Radicals Bulgarian Democratic Union, Bulgarian Women's Party): Emil Velikov. Born in 1969. Economist. Works in the fuel business;
  18. Society for New Bulgaria Party: Dimitar Tashev. Born in Burgas in 1983. Graduated with honours in Information Technology from the University of Tampa, Florida. MP of the 47th National Assembly;
  19. The Left! Coalition (ABV (Alternative for Bulgarian Revival), Movement 21, Green Party, Alexander Stamboliiski Agrarian Party, National Movement for Salvation of the Fatherland, Social Democrats Political Movement): Rumen Petkov. Born in Pleven in 1961. Graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics of Plovdiv University. Mayor of Pleven between 1995 and 1999. Member of the Executive Bureau of the Bulgarian Social Party's National Council (2000-2009) and Deputy Chairman (2002-2007). Interior Minister (2005-2008). Deputy Energy Minister of Boyko Borissov's second cabinet. MP of the 44th, 46th, 47th, 48th and 49th National Assemblies;

  27. Direct Democracy Party: Krasimir Stoyanov. Born in Smolyan in 1955. Graduated in Bulgarian Language and Literature from Sofia University. Assistant Professor at the Foreign Students Institute with Sofia University. Associate Professor since 2003, Professor since 2020. Authored more than 110 scientific publications and reviews. Interested in sociolinguistics, the language of the mass media, and teaching Bulgarian as a foreign language;
  28. Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) Party: Sevim Ali. Born in Aitos in 1981. Graduated in Chemical Engineering from Burgas University and the Dimitry Panitza Bulgarian School of Politics at New Bulgarian University. MRF member since 2005. Chaired MRF Youth (2013-2018). MP of the 44th, 45th, 46th, 47th and 48th National Assemblies (2017-2023). MP of the 49th National Assembly. Member of the MRF Central Operations Bureau since March 2024;
  29. Green Movement Party: Daniela Bozhinova. PhD Political Science and Master of Arab Studies. Carries out research in electoral democracy, green policies and local self-government. Social entrepreneur for over 20 years. Vice President of Democracy International, an NGO based in Cologne, Germany. Chair of Initiative BG. Co-founder and Co-chair of the Green Movement Party. Municipal councillor in Burgas (2021-2023). MP of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria of the 49th National Assembly;
