Bulgarian wrestlers won two titles and a total of 12 medals on the second day of the Dan Kolov - Nikola Petrov tournament in Varna.
The two titles were won in the women's all-Bulgarian finals. Vanessa Georgieva achieved a victory over Alexandra Stoyanova with 10:0 in the 76 kg category, and Daniela Brasnarova, who prevailed over Ilinka Stefanova with 11:0 in the 68 kg category.
The silver went to Kaloyan Atanasov in the 70 kg freestyle category, who in the decisive bout lost to American Will Lewan with 0:5.
In the classics, Alan Dzabiev took the silver after 1:2 against Iranian Abolfazl Fatitazanji. In the women's event, the silver medalist was Fatme Shaban (62 kg).
Bronze medals went to Emel Mustafova (62 kg) and Desislava Ivanova (62), Mihail Georgiev (70 kg), Petar Petrov (79 kg) in the freestyle, as well as Ignat Milenov (130 kg) and Antonio Tahov (130 kg) in the classic.
In the 79-kg category, the champion was the Georgian Tornike Tulashvili, who defeated Kennedy Monday (USA) in the final (8:6). Monday is the son of Kenny Monday, the first black Olympic champion of the USA in wrestling from Seoul '88.
Kennedy's brother, Quincy Monday, qualified for the final in the 74-kilogram category. Their father, who won silver at the 1991 World Championships, also fought in Varna.
