Bulgarian Olympic Committee President Stefka Kostadinova Sunday sent a congratulatory address to Ruzhdi Ruzhdi, champion in the shot put at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. The athlete has repeated his title from Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and has a silver medal from Tokyo 2020 in his medal collection.

"On behalf of the entire Olympic community in Bulgaria, thank you for making Bulgarians feel proud and strong again with your successes. The gold medal is another proof that there are no barriers to human will and spirit. Be sure that such successes inspire faith and confidence that sport can bring joy and hope in the difficult everyday life of hundreds of thousands of Bulgarians.

Congratulations also to the coach Radoslav Todorov, with whom you have been together for years on the difficult road to climbing world records. Thanks to you, the Bulgarian national anthem sounded again in Paris, after not even a month ago our Olympians delighted us with 7 medals in the French capital. We have witnessed how the will, the determination and the high spirit of sport have once again united the nation. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our other two Paralympians, Hristian Stoyanov and Stella Eneva, for their fourth places, as well as the President of the National Paralympic Organisation, Ilia Lalov, for his apostolic fervour in a noble activity. Thank you once again, Mr. Ruzhdi, for the positive energy you radiate and for giving the Bulgarians new reasons for pride and national self-confidence," concludes the congratulatory address of Stefka Kostadinova.
