Three Bulgarian Athletes to Participate in 2024 Paralympics in Paris

The 2024 Summer Paralympic Games will be opened in Paris on Wednesday evening. More than 4,000 athletes with physical, visual and intellectual disabilities will compete in 22 sports over the next 11 days.

Bulgaria will be represented by three track and field athletes – Ruzhdi Ruzhdi, Hristiyan Stoyanov, and Stela Eneva.

Ruzhdi, a Paralympic champion from Rio 2016 and a silver medalist from Tokyo 2020, will compete in the men’s F55 shot put event at 8.05 p.m. on August 30.

Eneva, who is Paralympic vice-champion from London 2012 and Rio 2016, will in the women’s F57 discus throw at 11.08 a.m. on August 31.

Stoyanov, a Paralympic vice-champion from Tokyo 2020, will appear in the men’s Т46 1,500 metres competition at 11.58 a.m. on August 31.

*F55 is a disability sport classification for disabled athletes who compete in field events from a seated position. Sportspeople in this class have full arm function, partial trunk function and no lower limb function.

*F57 is a disability sport classification for disability athletics for people who compete in field events from a seated position. This class is for people with limb deficiencies not covered by other classes.

*T46 is a disability sport classification for disability athletics. People in this class have a single below or above the elbow amputation.
