Weather in the Bulgarian mountains is cloudy on Wednesday morning with temperature highs of 10C to 16C. Deteriorating weather with rain showers and thunderstorms is expected in the afternoon, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) told BTA.

Due to the expected worsening of the weather, people are advised not to hike in the high parts of the mountains without having a way to quickly get down from there, experts advise.

There were no incidents with tourists on Tuesday.

National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology's mountain weather forecast:  Cumulus cloud with rain showers and thunderstorms. Moderate easterly-northeasterly wind. Highs: around 23C at 1,200 metres, around 15C at 2,000 metres.
