site.btaOver BGN 12 Mln Invested in Gorna Oryahovitsa Airport in Eight Years

The concessionaire of Gorna Oryahovitsa Airport has invested over BGN 12 million in infrastructure since 2016, Executive Manager Anastasiya Yoveva told reporters at an event marking the airport's centenary on Saturday. Over BGN 32 million is planned to be invested during the 35-year concession period.
 
The COVID crisis occurred during the first eight years of the concession, Yoveva said, explaining the difference between the investment made and the projected amount of BGN 22 million for the first eight years. Since 2016, over BGN 18 million were invested in maintaining the airport's operational worthiness, including the staff and existing facilities. A major project for runway extension is awaiting approval, including from local government, she said.

Yoveva expressed hope that the airport team would keep up the good work and that the partnership with the state would continue.
