Traffic is heavy at the entrances to Sofia at the end of the Easter holiday weekend, the Interior Ministry's press center told BTA Monday evening. Across the country, traffic on major roads has returned to normal.
Between April 17 and Monday, a total of 73 serious road accidents occurred in Bulgaria, resulting in 85 injuries and six deaths, according to Police Inspector Bisser Tsvetkov from the National Coordination Center for Road Safety at the Interior Ministry.
Two of the fatal accidents happened earlier Monday. Near the village of Novi Han, a car and a truck collided head-on. The car caught fire and burned completely; a charred body was found at the scene. In another incident, a car crash on a local road in Tryavna Municipality (central Bulgaria) claimed the life of a driver and injured a passenger.
