Two Romanian police officers will work together with Bulgarian enforcers patrolling the Pamporovo ski resort in the Rhodope Mountains between February 20 and March 19, the Interior Ministry in Sofia said on Thursday. The joint patrols have been organized under an agreement between the two countries' interior ministries.

International police cooperation in resort areas has become an established and effective practice, the press release said. Joint patrols also worked in Pamporovo last winter, contributing to peace and quiet.

Given the considerable number of Romanian holiday-makers in Pamporovo, the presence of Romanian police there improves communication and adds to the sense of safety among the foreign guests.
