site.btaDairy Price Increase, Fruits and Vegetable Prices Decrease in Second Week of December
The market index for wholesale food prices in Bulgaria went up by 0.32% to 2.204 points during the week. Last week, the index stood at 2.197 points. The base level of 1 point was set in 2005.
The price of white brined cheese from cow's milk increased by 1.4% to BGN 11.76/kg, while the price of yellow kashkaval cheese of the Vitosha type went up by 0.5% to BGN 17.39/kg.
Yoghurt (with a fat content of 3% and over) increased in price by by 2.9% to BGN 1.29 for a cup of 400 grammes. The price of fresh milk (with a fat content of 3%) increased by 2% to BGN 2.41 per litre. Cow's butter (125 gram package) went up by 0.1% toBGN 3.04 per piece.
The price of chicken went up by 0.9% to BGN 6.45/kg. Eggs (size M) went down in pricw by 0.6% to BGN 0.34 per piece.
Rice went down by 2.3% to BGN 3.37/kg. Lentils went down by 2.5% to BGN 4.28/kg and dry common beans depreciated by 3.6% to BGN 4.30/kg.
The price of cooking oil went down by 0.3% to BGN 3.18/litre. Flour (type 500) depreciated by 4.8% to BGN 1.30/kg. Sugar depreciated by 0.5%, selling at BGN 1.93/kg.
Oranges are decreased in prince by 5.7% to BGN 1.98 per kilogram. Tangerines went down in price by 2.5% to BGN 2.26 per kilogram, bananas decreased in price by 1.3% to BGN 2.65 per kilogram, and lemons went dwon by 2.4% to BGN 2.23 per kilogram. Apples depreciated by 5.5% to BGN 1.61 per kilogram, grapefruits were up by 0.7% to BGN 2.32 per kilogram. Greenhouse tomatoes went down by 2.4% to BGN 3.68 per kilogram, and greenhouse cucumbers went down by 5.1% to BGN 3 per kilogram. Ripe onions depreciated by 1.6% to BGN 1.10 per kilogram. The price of lettuce went decreased by 2.8% to BGN 1.12 per piece, and that of ripe garlic decreased by 3.2 to BGN 5.63 per kilogram.
Carrots increased in price by 4.5% to BGN 1.20 per kilogram, potatoes increased by 0.5% to BGN 1.24 per kilogram, and cabbage went up by 6.1% to BGN 1.40 per kilogram.
