Bulgarian Deputy Innovation and Growth Minister Krasimir Yakimov presented a Class A certificate to the Chinese company ZS Europe LTD at an official ceremony on Monday. The event took place on the industrial site near the village of Radinovo, on which the company's production base is being built. The ceremony was also attended by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Bulgaria, Dai Qingli, Executive Director of Trakia Economic Zone Plamen Panchev, and Maritsa Mayor Dimitar Ivanov.

"This is indeed a serious step in the development of Bulgarian-Chinese relations. This outlines Plovdiv as an attractive centre for investments, especially foreign investments", said Yakimov. He added that in 2023 alone, the Ministry of Innovation and Growth certified four projects in the region with a total value of BGN 135 million, creating 330 jobs.

"Today begins a new journey for us, our expansion in Europe. This is the first site we are opening in Europe, and we are very happy that we are making our investments in Bulgaria," said ZS Europe Manager Chen Insi. ZS Europe is the first Chinese investor in the industry field in Bulgaria. The company is building a high-tech plant for aluminum parts that are widely used in the automotive industry in the Maritsa sub-zone, part of the Trakia Economic Zone. The plant is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, creating more than 100 jobs.

"Today is an important day for the business relations between China and Bulgaria. I congratulate ZS Europe for the successful start of their project. I am sure that we will deepen our future cooperation with both the Trakia Economic Zone and the Maritsa Municipality, and this will not be the last Chinese investment here", commented the Chinese Ambassador.

Later in the day, Deputy Minister Yakimov and the Chinese Ambassador held a working meeting where they discussed the bilateral economic relations as well as the opportunities for investment and innovation development.
