The average monthly amount of the retirement pension per pensioner for April was BGN 920,01, show National Social Security Institute (NSSI) data published on Friday. Compared to the same month last year, the amount was higher by BGN 105.42.

The total amount of the reported revenues in the State Social Insurance (SSI) was some BGN 4,145.4 million, which accounts for 32.2% fulfillment of the plan for the year. Revenues received increased by BGN 593.4 million compared to the first four months of 2023, NSSI reported. Expenditures for this period amounted to some BGN 8,068.3 million or 33.2% of the plan for the year. Expenditures were BGN 1,276.6 million more compared to the same period last year, NSSI  added.

Pensioners accounted for the largest share of the total expenditure amounting to BGN 7,097.0 million. The number of pensioners for April was 2,039,418, which was 12,269 (0.6%) more than in the same month of the previous year. The average monthly pension per pensioner was BGN 835.07, up by BGN 93.51 (12.6%) compared to April 2023.
