In March 2024, the Transferoviar Calatori (T.F.C.) private railway operator will launch a train service between Ruse (on the Danube, North Central Bulgaria) and the Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport at Otopeni via Giurgiu and Bucharest Nord, after the modernization of the Giurgiu-Comana-Bucharest Nord line has been completed, https://bgtourism.bg reported on Tuesday.

The journey between Ruse and Bucharest Nord will take approximately 50-60 minutes, and the Romanian airport will be reached from the Bulgarian city within 80-100 minutes. The fare will be RON 25 (EUR 5).

T.F.C. will use Alstom Coradia LINT 41 trains on the route, which can travel at up to 160 km/h. The French-made two-car articulated air-conditioned train has 130 passenger seats, including 16 in the first class. The Alstom Coradias are already in commercial operation, having made their first trip between Bucharest Nord and Brasov.
