The fourth edition of the Balkan Theatre Festival will take place in Blagoevgrad from November 1 to 7, the local Nikola Vaptsarov Drama Theatre announced on Friday.

The annual international platform, organized by the Nikola Vaptsarov Theatre in partnership with Blagoevgrad Municipality, brings together leading theatre companies and directors from Bulgaria, Serbia, North Macedonia, and Romania. This year’s edition features a curated selection of performances and audience engagement formats, reaffirming Blagoevgrad’s role as a significant stage for contemporary theatre in the region.

According to the organizers, the festival continues to evolve with each edition, attracting new partners and creating tangible added value for the local community, tourism, and business.

The 2025 festival is supported financially by the Ministry of Culture and the National Culture Fund under the Festivals 2024 programme, and enjoys broad backing from local and national partners.
