Paintings worth some EUR 350,000 have been sold at Artmark’s summer auction in Sofia, which lasted six and a half hours, the organizers said.

More than 150 registered bidders took part in the event through live, telephone, and online bidding, and 80% of all the artworks offered were sold, Artmark said. This is a clear sign of the Bulgarian art market’s dynamic growth and increasing investor confidence.

The organizers noted that Dimitar “Nero” Kazakov's Antique Composition sold for EUR 22,000, Peter Morozov’s Rural Landscape for EUR 20,000, and Dobri Dobrev's Market in Sliven for EUR 16,000.

The most competitive bidding was for Bencho Obreshkov’s Fishermen in Balchik, which saw 25 bid increments, with the price rising from EUR 3,500 to EUR 13,000. Lika Yanko’s Cityscape started at EUR 800 and sold for EUR 6,500 after 24 bid increments, the organizers added.
