Sofia will host a concert by the Tiscali Choir on September 13 at the National Music School in Sofia, in celebration of the choir's 120th anniversary, the organizers from the Italian Cultural Institute in Bulgaria and the Sardinia Social and Cultural Initiatives Association Sardica (Associazione Sociale e Culturale Sarda – Sardica) said here on Friday. Admission to the performance will be free.

Tiscali is a choir ensemble from Sardinia, bonded by a shared and enduring passion for music and singing. The choir's primary focus is folk music, with a repertoire that includes interpretations of Sardinian musical and poetic traditions. Their performances include renditions of religious chants, particularly those associated with Holy Week and the Christmas Novena Prayers, but also pieces that address social themes, satire, entertainment, traditional mountain songs, and selections from classical works.

Tiscali is renowned for its integral role in the liturgical accompaniment of weddings and traditional Sardinian festivals in the town of Dorgali, Sardinia. These events feature a rich tapestry of musical performances, including Latin liturgical chants, both polyphonic and Gregorian, as well as traditional songs in the Sardinian tongue, and liturgical hymns in Italian.

Sardica has been active in Bulgaria for 24 years, serving as the official representation of the Sardinia region in Bulgaria. The association aims to promote the island's culture, economy, and tourism internationally. Sardica has organized numerous cultural events in Bulgaria in collaboration with various Italian institutions, including the Italian Embassy, the Sardinia region, the Nuoro province, the Sardinian Confederation of Agriculture, and local schools. Sardica also works to promote Bulgarian culture in Sardinia. Events held in Sardinia have featured performances by the Cosmic Voices choir, Kukeri parades, and musical acts by renowned artists such as Vasil Petrov.
