Children and adults will have an opportunity to learn more about paleobotany at a meeting at the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) on June 16. The event is organized by NMNH and the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IBER-BAS), and will take place at NMNH’s Leventis Hall.

The topic will be presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vladimir Bozukov, Head of the Paleobotany and Pollen Analysis Section at IBER-BAS. He will introduce the different processes of fossilization of plant material and fossil types, as well as the different sedimentary rocks in which fossilization is possible and the information that plant fossils carry. "You will be able to see plant fossils aged 35 to 5 million years from Bulgarian fossil localities," the organizers said.

The hosts of the presentation note that it is suitable for adults and students over 12 years old.
