Bulgarian Artists from La Scuola Kabaivanska to Perform in Opera national de Paris

Four young artist from La Scuola Kabaivanska will perform on one of the most prestigious opera stages in the world, Opera national de Paris, on February 10, said the Institut Culturel Bulgare en France in Paris. 

Aleksandrina Mihailova (soprano), Veronica Simeoni (mezzo-soprano), Giuseppe Infantino (tenor) and Bozhidar Bozhkilov (bass) will perform opera arias and ensembles accompanied by Bulgarian pianist Boryana Lambreva. The concert will feature works by Bach, Donizetti, Berlioz, Verdi, Puccini, Hristov and Saint-Saens. 

The event is initiated by Desislava Bineva, Director of the Institut Culturel Bulgare en France, in partnership with Sofia's New Bulgarian University (NBU), which will host the XXIII International Raina Kabaivanska Masterclass in September. 

Aleksandrina Mihailova is studying in the prestigious La Scala Academy in Milano, where she won first place amongst 430 candidates in a young artist programme in 2021. She joined La Scuola Kabaivanska when she was 17 and has already worked with the opera prima for six years.

Bozhidar Bozhkilov has studied piano and solfege from an early age. He graduated from the National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" before specializing in La Scala. Bozhkilov took part in the International Raina Kabaivanska Masterclass in 2022 and won a scholarship from her Fund at NBU.

Boryana Lambreva has been accompanying Kabaivanska's Masterclass on piano in the last 23 years. She is also a professor of chamber singing at the National Music Academy and has authored two books on music pedagogy.

Veronica Simeoni has participated in Kabaivanska's masterclasses in Sofia, Siena and Modena. 

Giuseppe Infantino joined La Scuola Kabaivanska in 2018 and has won two scholarships from her Fund.
