A Bulgarian parliamentary delegation led by National Assembly Deputy Chair, Bulgaria-Japan Friendship Group Chair and GERB-UDF Deputy Floor Leader Raya Nazaryan is visiting Japan at the invitation of the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Paliament, Fukushiro Nukaga, the Bulgarian Parliament’s press service said.

The delegation includes GERB - UDF MP Denitsa Nikolova, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria MP Daniel Lorer, BSP - United Left Deputy Floor Leader Maya Dimitrova, and There Is Such a People Floor Leader Toshko Yordanov.

During the visit, Nazaryan will confer with Nukaga. The Bulgarian delegation will also hold talks with Junichi Ishii, chair of the Japan-Bulgaria Parliamentary Friendship Association at the House of Councillors, and Japanese MPs.

The delegation is also scheduled to meet with Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hisayuki Fujii, and the State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Masaki Ogushi.

Bulgarian MPs will attend a ceremony where popular Japanese musician and actor Hiromitsu Kitayama will be nominated as Bulgaria’s Goodwill Ambassador to Japan.

The agenda includes a visit to Expo 2025 Osaka, where the delegation will tour the Bulgarian pavilion and meet with members of the Bulgarian community.

In May, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev visited the pavilion as part of his official visit to Japan. On May 18, Bulgaria Day was celebrated at the World Expo with a cultural and musical programme.
