site.btaGutsanov on His Attendance of Event of the Russian Embassy: Bulgaria Should Want to Host Peace Talks

Asked by reporters about his attendance of an event organized by the Russian Embassy in Sofia, Minister of Labour and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov said on Thursday that Bulgaria should be willing to have peace talks taking place on its territory. The event was also attended by Russian Ambassador Eleonora Mitrofanova.

Gutsanov said that there was nothing hidden. He stated that he attended the event not in his capacity as a minister but as a representative of the Bulgarian Socialist Party. He added that the event was an academic conference attended by scholars, MEPs, a former prime minister, and emphasized that it did not take place at the Embassy.

Gutsanov said: "You can see that the wind in the world is completely different. Yesterday, a telephone conversation took place between President Trump and President Putin for more than an hour and a half." He said that wars are not normal, and peace is the top priority.
