Lovech Mayor Stratsimir Petkov told BTA on Tuesday that he will file a complaint because of the interrupted power supply continuing for seven days now. There are still households without electricity in the municipalities of Lovech and Troyan. A lawsuit against the electricity distribution company will also be filed.
"We currently have information about 15 households that do not have electricity. These are individual complaints. We have an assurance from the electricity distribution company that there will be no clients left without electricity on New Year's Eve," Petkov pointed out.
He stated that on Tuesday Lovech Municipality will issue a complaint to the Ombudsman, the Energy Minister, the Regional Governor and the Management of the electricity distribution operator ERM Zapad about the fact that people have been left without electricity for a very long time. "The class action will be after New Year's Eve. We will ask for compensation for the people for the misfortunes they suffered during Christmas," Petkov added. He stressed that the lack of investment in the small settlements along the power transmission network is worrying and the law regarding easements should also be changed.
Troyan Mayor Donka Mihaylova said that in seven villages of the municipality there are still households without electricity. However, the main problems with electricity supply have been fixed. "I hope they don't meet the New Year without electricity either. I am in constant contact with the Energy Minister, who personally monitors all other cases without electricity," Mihaylova noted, adding that in the first days of 2025 they will analyze all the damage and look for solutions.
