All expenditures have been set and when preparing the 2025 state budget the Cabinet stuck to this, guided by the fact that a caretaker government and cannot make many "sudden moves", caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev said in a comment on Wednesday as the Council of Ministers is holding its weekly meeting.

"Speaking of the budget, it is worth mentioning that the entire spending part was voted by previous parliaments on the basis of a budget voted by the previous National Assembly, a budget that was prepared by the regular government with Finance Minister Assen Vassilev", Glavchev said, adding that in preparing the budget the government had ensured that the budget deficit was within 3% in order to keep our way to the euro area. "Based on this, the revenue part was done by a team that has done the revenue part of at least five governments", Glavchev clarified, stressing that so far there have been no "shocks". "I think there will not be any now, but if the MPs have any other views, they may not accept the budget bill with all that this action entails", the PM said.
