People disgruntled by the water shortage in Pleven held a 15-minute blockade at the Yasen junction of the road between Sofia and Ruse on Saturday afternoon. They carried a large national flag almost side to side over the four-lane road and chanted "We want water!"

Earlier in the day, the protesters drove in a motorcade across downtown Pleven. The demonstration, the second one over irregular water supply in Bulgaria's sixth-largest city, was far more limited in scale than the first one on December 8. In addition to the water issue, the people also voiced other grievances, accusing public institutions of inaction.
