We will put all our efforts into the new nuclear facility in Kozloduy in a spirit of challenge and commitment, said President and CEO Yoon Young-Joon of Hyundai Engineering & Construction.
On Monday, an engineering contract for new nuclear capacities at Kozloduy N-plant was signed at the Council of Ministers between NPP Kozloduy New Builds Plc, Westinghouse and Hyundai Engineering & Construction.
Yong Joon Yoon expressed his gratitude to the Bulgarian government for the trust in the two companies Westinghouse and Hyundai. “Bulgaria has always been a crossroads between East and West and today it is establishing itself as an energy hub in Europe,” Yoon Young-Joon said. He said the Kozloduy nuclear power plant will play an important role in enhancing Bulgaria's nuclear security, in promoting sustainable development through decarbonization. We take this as our mission and are proud to contribute to the implementation of Bulgaria's future vision, Yoon Young-Joon said.
He said Hyundai is a driving force in South Korea's economic development and the only company to have successfully completed 24 nuclear projects on time and within budget since 1971. "A job well started is half done," the Hyundai representative quoted a Korean proverb and expressed confidence that what was started on Monday would mark a new chapter in Bulgaria's future energy development. “To achieve success, we all need to work together as a team,” Yoon Young-Joon said.
