Ministry of Interior Receives 408 Alerts Related to Vote-Buying So Far

The Ministry of Interior received a total of 512 alerts for election violations, of which 408 are related to vote buying in favor of political parties and coalitions, 21 for illegal canvassing, 13 for destruction of property, three for corporate voting and 67 for other violations related to the election process, said Mitko Dimitrov, director of the Ministry of Interior press center on Friday.

A total of 110 pre-trial proceedings have been opened, 51 people have been detained and around 1,450 warning protocols have been issued by the Interior Ministry.

More than 15,000 Interior Ministry employees are engaged in the security of polling stations throughout Bulgaria and keep in touch with the Central Election Commission.

A total of 843 certificates have been issued, which will allow citizens to vote in Sunday's elections, replacing their personal documents.
