Interior Ministry Has Received Two Alerts of Alleged Vote Buying Regarding Oct. 27 Elections

Caretaker Minister of Interior Atanas Ilkov told a parliamentary hearing here on Wednesday that two alerts have been received related to buying and selling votes for the October 27 parliamentary elections. The alerts will be processed and reported to the prosecution service.

The Minister said that an inter-ministerial working group with the State Agency for National Security and the prosecution service will monitor the activities in the overall organization of the elections and any alerts submitted before or during the elections.

Ilkov reported that the Interior Ministry has introduced an information system that would allow them to pull up-to-date information 24/7 to assist their organization.
